United States Fish
and Wildlife Service

Eat no fish from Clear or Richland Creeks.

The Fish & Wildlife Service, which is a part of the Department of Interior, was mandated under an executive order 12-580 issued by President Ronald Reagan, to act as trustees for our natural resources. Fish & Wildlife Service watches over endangered species, migratory fishes and birds, and has the most interest in protecting these natural resources.

Fish & Wildlife Service has a regional office in Bloomington, Indiana, and uses wildlife biologist and field managers to conduct sampling and protective measures to insure wildlife protection.

Dan Sparks of USFWS recently released Comments relative to the existing body of knowledge for Clear Creek, providing F&WS's opinion regarding trends of PCB contamination in Clear Creek.

Fish & Wildlife has been a key player in understanding the extent of wildlife damages resulting from PCB contamination and has provided technical data to EPA concerning the impact of
PCB contamination in fish, birds and other wildlife. Fish & Wildlife has worked with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) to help identify contaminated streams and fish.

Warning! Eat no fish from Clear Creek, Pleasant Run, Salt or Richland Creeks.
