4.4.3.5   Short-Term Effectiveness -- Alternative 3

The short-term effectiveness of the DAVES process is similar to
other HTTD systems (see Section 4.4.1.5).  The DAVES feed and
tailings systems are totally enclosed to reduce the amount of
fugitive vapor and dust emissions.  APC equipment can be tailored
to remove the predicted types and concentrations of contaminants
in the off-gas from the vapor extractor.  If Alternative 3 is
selected, ambient air monitoring, stack gas sampling, and air
dispersion modeling is required to determine the potential for
worker and community exposure.
