4.1.2          Description of Primary Treatment Technologies

Each of the alternatives except Alternative 8 would use a primary
treatment technology to treat PCB-contaminated material. 
Alternative 8 involves off-site disposal in a TSCA landfill.  The
sections below describe each of the primary treatment
technologies that would be used in Alternatives 1 through 7 and
the off-site disposal option available for Alternative 8. 
Transport, treatment, and disposal of nonhazardous solid waste
are common to all alternatives and are discussed in greater
detail in Section 3.3.2.
