Updates on Demolishing the Bloomington ABB Plant
Sept 11-22, 2006

Below is the schedule for the next two weeks for demolition work at our former manufacturing facility at 300 North Curry Pike Road. If you know of someone else that should be added to the addressee list, let me know. Conversely, if you do not want such information, let me know and I will take you off of the list.

Week of September 11th

Building Demolition
  • Arrange for disposal of PCB contaminated asbestos.
  • Arrange for disposal of PCB contaminated asbestos. Set and calibrate truck scales.
  • Arrange for disposal of PCB contaminated asbestos. Complete asbestos abatement.
  • Arrange for disposal of PCB contaminated asbestos. Sample tranformer oil for PCBs.
  • Arrange for disposal of PCB contaminated asbestos. Open and inspect all above ground storage tanks and process vessels.
  • Arrange for disposal of PCB contaminated asbestos. Begin disconnecting below grade utilities.
  • Arrange for disposal of PCB contaminated asbestos. Complete set up of stormwater treatment system.
  • Arrange for disposal of PCB contaminated asbestos. Verify plant process lines as empty.

Week of September 18th

Building Demolition
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example).
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example). Drop electrical power to plant substation and ground substation components after power disconnect.
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example). Disconnect gas lines at main.
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example). Plug all drains and holes in floor prior to removal of PCB wastes.
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example). Complete below grade utility disconnects and capping.
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example). Set air perimeter monitoring equipment for PCB removal.
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example). Remove sodium vapor lights.
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example). Remove gravel from PCB areas on roof.
  • Finish removal and load-out of any remaining universal waste (freon for example). Begin PCB removal.
Warning! Eat no fish from Clear Creek, Pleasant Run, Salt or Richland Creeks.
