Updates on Demolishing the Bloomington ABB Plant
May 22-June 2, 2006

Below is the schedule for the next two weeks for demolition work at our former manufacturing facility at 300 North Curry Pike Road.

Week of May 22nd

Asbestos Abatement/Universal Waste Removal

Asbestos abatement activities to continue. Abatement of the second floor office mechanical room and the old boiler room will be completed. Removal of pipe wrap will continue into the northern portion of the plant. Removal of universal waste switches and capacitors to be completed this week.

Building Demolition

Proposals from bidders are due on Friday, May 26th.

Additional Sampling

Some additional roof samples to be collected. Some pipe wrap that was not previously identified as asbestos will be sampled.

Week of May 29th

Asbestos Abatement/Universal Waste Removal

Asbestos abatement activities to continue. Removal of any remaining pipe wrap in the main plant will continue. Work may begin on some asbestos on the roof. Work will begin in the first floor office area.

Building Demolition

Proposal evaluation to begin May 30th. Abatement of some mercury found in one of the laboratories at the facility may begin.

Additional Sampling

No additional sampling planned.

Warning! Eat no fish from Clear Creek, Pleasant Run, Salt or Richland Creeks.
